Job Purpose:

• This role is responsible to lead the mechanical and fluidics modelling, definition development, and delivery of system level models, consisting of multiple interconnected components, from different engineering disciplines, into tobacco heating or vaping products for the NGP Engineering Department. 
• This role will support cross platform during the development process, to modelling solution, verify and guide hardware design, to accelerate Product Development Process by using predictive modelling data, to rapidly iterating in a computer simulation, reducing the number of hardware builds and also ensure the products in full alignment to NGPs strategy.

Principal Accountabilities:

• System Design Model – work with necessary stakeholders and prepare system CFD models for hardware design simulation
• System Functional and Non-Functional Analysis – carry out a range of analysis and investigations to create the CFD models for the product.
• Evaluate multiple system design concepts and maintain balance between the product and its components to arrive at a harmonized solution that meets the business needs.
• System Functional model and Physical model development: propose new and different methods and processes to achieve product performance.
• Based on the simulation result to guide or propose design optimization from structure, process, material and other design factors
• Investigate new technologies and stay current on new product developments in NGP markets
• Product Verification and Validation – cooperate with design validation engineers to design and develop system test plan and conduct tests to validate or inform model improvements
• Lead System model test
• Lead cross-functional technical design reviews on the models created
• Responsible for system model documentation from initial proposals through first production release
• Initiate and develop the proper working standard for CFD function to next level
• Assist with production and field failure analysis as required
• Accountable to define the engineering model development processes for PRRP
• Simulation tool and license management for internal team with IT and 3rd party support
• Assist project manager with project schedule development and milestone definition.
• To manage assigned model development using the identified BAT/NGP processes
• To identify best external partners to assist and drive CFD model development
• To effectively manage assigned projects to ensure delivery on time and within budget
• Lead internal teams and / or development partners to define the expected system functionality and performance targets
• Liaise with cross category architecture teams to maintain alignment with the specified programs, as well as electrical and physical architecture
• Working with our internal teams and / or development partners, create functional models, demonstrating how the model satisfies the defined requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering field, with specialization in CFD modelling
• Previous product development experience in a related field
• Previous experience in model verification testing
• In-depth knowledge of CFD modelling software such as ComSol, Ansys, or FlowTherm.
• Previous experience working as a member of a development team
• Previous experience launching an electronic product into manufacturing
• Working knowledge of thermal modelling and system design methods
• Knowledge and understanding of product development processes 
• Working knowledge of international safety standards for consumer electronics products
• Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word knowledge
• Hands on experiences in mechanical CAD software (ideally SolidWorks)
