[India-Bengaluru] New Space Research and Technologies - Propulsion Engineer
Industrial Jobs
Who we are:
We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian Defence forces. It is undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand(off ISR/hard kill autonomous system. We are also developing initial capability towards Manned Unmanned Teaming (MUT) and design of an unmanned wingman UCAV vehicle.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Work within the design engineering team to design, evaluate and optimize the components of the propulsion system.
Use commercial CFD software (Fluent) to set up the problem definition for the rotary flow cases.
Parametric case study of the propeller with multi-bodies to analyze the flow physics.
Readiness of CAD model with geometry clean up and pre-processing activities for the CFD analysis
Preparation of structured mesh for the complex geometries using Ansys Mesh or ICEM.
Post-process the CFD solution and capable to interpret the data from the solution.
Support and provide suggestions to the design team in terms of feedback based on the CFD analysis.
Prepare technical reports associated with the tasks performed for the company record.
Validation of problem setup and ensure that the best procedure was followed for CFD analysis.
Candidate must have strong fundamentals in the following areas:
Aerodynamics
Fluid Mechanics
Computational Fluid Dynamics
Turbulence models
Theory of Propeller
Candidate must have prior experience in:
Theoretical and computational practices followed in external flow aerodynamics. Exposure to low Reynolds number related flow problems would be an added advantage.
Computational exposure to rotary flow aerodynamics would be an added advantage.
Handling the structured and unstructured grid system for the complex geometry.
Interpretation of flow physics based on the CFD results and validate the problem solution with the theoretical computation and experimental results.
Must have been involved in the design and CFD analysis of air vehicle propulsion systems.
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
(or)
Masters degree in CFD/Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
