THE MISSION

The main purpose would be to work on entire valve development process, initiating the idea for the valve, calculations, CAD design, testing, optimization and finally qualification for flight. The role requires to collaborate with highly technical engineers during the complete valve development process. It also gives you an exciting opportunity to lead valve project where you can implement your ideas and execute till the final flight version.

More specifically, you will:

  • Be responsible for the construction of valves for the rocket and the engine and their integration into the fluid system
  • Be responsible for testing of valves
  • Be responsible to assist in the purchase of valves for the rocket and the engine
  • Be responsible to support the team by creating technical drawings and organizing the manufacturing of valves

Requirements

WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU HAVE

Must have:

  • M.Sc in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Experience with CAD programs, especially with SolidWorks
  • Excellent knowledge in valve design and manufacturing process
  • Hands-on test experience with valves (testing with a pressurized fluid system)
  • Good communication skills and a great team player
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Highly organised and proactive with high attention to detail
  • Can-do attitude and outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Driven and eager to learn
  • Fluent in English

Nice to have:


  • Knowledge of rocket design and fluid system integration of valves
  • Knowledge of electric actuators (step motor, solenoid, piezo element)
  • Knowledge of cryogenic valves
  • Test experience with cryogenic systems
  • Experience in manufacturing and assembling of valves
  • Knowledge or Experience in Python programming
  • Knowledge or Experience CFD programs (preferably ANSYS CFX or Fluent)
  • Knowledge or Experience in FEM (preferably ANSYS Mechanical)
