Wir Suchen Einen Maschinenbauingenieur

Aufgaben/Verantwortlichkeiten

• Perform responsible duties or participate with assistance in the mechanical design of probes for solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).
  
• Provide insight into technological feasibility, conceptual work, CAD design and construction of magic-angle spinning (MAS) airbearing microturbines.
• Drive feasibility studies and the mechanical construction and manufacturing of functional prototypes and probe prototypes.
• Participate in the organization, operative and functionality duties in our solid-state NMR probe department in cooperation with and in alignment to solid-state NMR probe production engineering and production.
  
• Must be a team player capable of working in interdisciplinary teams including physics, electronics, and others. Take input from physicists, chemists, and other engineers and turn them into real world pragmatic designs.
• Responsibilities include the whole development cycle embedded in an Product Life Cycle Management environment.
• Work with external vendors for mechanical parts as well as inhouse mechanical workshops to provide innovative and cost effective NMR probe technology solutions.
  
• Collaborate with some of our customer laboratories throughout the world who are pioneering in applications of solid-state NMR.
  
  

Qualifikationen

Education And/or Experience

University degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering (Maschinenbau)

Experience in design, production or optimization of micromechanical systems is a strong plus.

Mechanical engineering applied to NMR probe instrumentation is a plus.

Experience with NMR Spectroscopy measurements is a plus.

Computer Skills

Experience with Solid Edge, or equivalent CAD software.

Experience with mechanical/thermal simulation software is a plus.

Experience with Computational Fluids Dynamics (CFD) simulations is a strong plus.

Other Skills And Abilities

Being capable of independent judgment in design selection, research approaches, methodologies, and tools and integrate these attributes with proposals and experiences of other engineers, scientists, and fellow developers.

Ability to communicate with engineers and scientists of other disciplines such as software engineers, electronic engineers, physicists, and chemists, both either within projects or with collaborators outside the project group.

Social Skills

Ability to work independently as well as a team-player in an international and multicultural environment is required.

Spoken Languages

Fluent English – spoken/writing is required

Fluent German language is a plus.
